Founded by Dr. Vincent Campbell, an Irish Medical Missionary from Londonderry, CSI Campbell Hospital has a legacy dating back to 1891. During his visit to Jammalamadugu, Dr. Campbell envisioned a hospital that would serve not only as a center for medical care but also as a means for evangelization. Beginning with mobile clinics, he established an outpatient facility in 1896, which later evolved into the CSI Campbell Hospital.
Over the years, numerous missionary doctors have dedicated their lives to nurturing this institution. Among them is Dr. William Cutting, a distinguished pediatrician and researcher who revolutionized child nutrition with the world-renowned Road to Health Chart. Collaborating with CMC Vellore, Oxfam, and WHO, Dr. Cutting put Jammalamadugu on the global map. His contributions extended even during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he played a pivotal role in securing a Liquid Oxygen Plant for the hospital.

Today, CSI Campbell Hospital stands as a beacon of excellence in the region, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, advanced medical specialties, and a commitment to compassionate care. It is proud to be the first and only mission hospital in the area to achieve NABH accreditation, setting a benchmark for quality and service on par with leading corporate hospitals.
